What is Radial Shockwave?
Radial Shockwave Therapy is a new technology used to increase the rate of healing for soft tissue tendinopathy. This is done extracorporeally, which means it's done outside of the body. This procedure is non-invasive and is very effective at accelerating healing before and after orthopaedic surgeries as well.
Will this fix me in one treatment?
Like most modalities, there is no 'one-trick-fix'! However, most patients gain more range of motion, decreased tension and decreased pain in the area that was focused on. It can take 3-8 treatments, along with dedication to home-care, to achieve optimal results!
Also, depending on career and/or daily activities, treatments are advised as part of maintenance.
Are the treatments painful?
This all depends on the person! Most patients feel a variety of sensations including (but not limited to) aching, burning, tingling, radiating and snapping. Diaphragmatic breathing and feedback is encouraged during those parts of the treatment.
What home-care is suggested?
Heat and a lot of it! Heat and drinking water after these treatments encourages blood flow to the area focused on and will in turn, speed up healing and recovery.
A variety of additional home-care is given depending on the primary reason for their visit!
Why am I being asked for my credit card number when booking an appointment?
A valid credit card number is required for all appointments in the even of a 'no-show' or canceling within 24 hours of the appointment. Alternate methods are available, such as pre-paying for your appoitment.
